Houston Colonial
This large Colonial residence in a premier neighborhood in Houston needed updating and refining when the owners decided to add a significant expansion to their house upon learning that they were going to have triplet girls. The existing family areas were retained but updated. The kitchen was enlarged and re-done to accommodate a new Breakfast Room and Pantry areas.
The existing garage was altered to house a guest apartment and children’s playroom. Three new bedrooms and three new baths were added to the second floor. A new Master Bath and dressing areas and closets enhanced the existing small Master Suite.
The exterior masonry was removed because it was deteriorating and replaced with a solid, hand-made, warm-colored brick. The stairwell rail was replaced with custom wrought iron design and new leaded glass doors were added to the formal rooms. A rear screen porch looks out to the re-designed terraces, garden and pool.
